Help Manayara Regional Hospital Fight COVID-19

With the swearing in of the new president in 2021, Samia Suluhu Hassan, Tanzania focused its attention on fighting COVID-19. The president assembled a COVID task force to assess the situation and provide guidance, restored a focus on COVID-19 transmission prevention guidelines, and secured 1 million Johnson and Johnson vaccinations from the United States.

However, the virus is spreading rapidly and hospitals do not have sufficient means to test, diagnose, and treat patients, nor to protect medical workers. Karimu received a request from the Babati District commissioner and the head doctor from the Manyara Regional Hospital for supplies to help fight COVID-19. Karimu purchased and provided an emergency supply of personal protection equipment (gloves and masks), sanitation supplies, oxygen machines, and diabetes test and treatment supplies.

Benefits:

  • Protect medical workers
  • Provide oxygen for COVID patients
  • Identify and treat immunocompromised diabetes patients
